It's happened to all of us: An exciting new repertoire assignment. A brand new score. Practice time set aside and then...
Should I trill here? Does that need an appoggiatura? Am I doing enough with this cadenza? What am I supposed to do at this fermata?
Have all your questions answered, and get inside the minds of the masters at this workshop led by Maestro Giovanni Reggioli, one of the region's leading authorities on Bel Canto style and tradition. With worldwide experience as a conductor and collaborator (including La Scala and the Metropolitan Opera), Maestro Reggioli guides singers, coaches, and collaborators through every step of the ornamentation process. In four monthly sessions, learn history and theory, familiarize yourself with common techniques, participate in masterclasses, receive individualized coaching to prepare standout onaments on repertoire for auditions and performance, and feel more confident writing your own embellishments and training your students. The program ends with a final concert showcasing your trills, frills, and shiny new skills. Tuition of $300 includes four 3-hour classes (refreshment provided) and the final concert. A makeup date is available for those unable to attend all four scheduled sessions.
