Today was the day everyone arrived. Amidst delayed flights and lost trains, tight connections and baggage claim, students have arrived safe and sound. Shuttles from Florence came with young artists, emerging artists, and their much needed teachers. They got the chance to tour the school and the town. Roommates met for the first time, and coaches got a chance to meet the students they would be working with for a month. There was even mention of a wine tasting on the 31st!!! No lessons or master classes today. Everybody was given the chance to relax and take in the sights of the town. Even the locals knew the program had begun as singers could be heard warming up in their rooms throughout the square. I'm so excited to see the sing-outs tomorrow and officially meet all of our wonderful singers and staff.
